How To Dye Hair Bright Colors?

I have medium brown hair and I want to dye hot pink and aqua colored stripes into it. I've heard that first I have to dye the parts blonde in order for it to be as bright as possible. Is this true?

it is the best way to do it because it souns liek you have dark hair and in dark hair the colour wont show up like you want ti to so dye the bits you want highlighted then dye it the colour u want i did it to mine hair when i pur electic blue and violet in ma balkc hair nd it works it jsut takes loner cos u have to wait a couple week before you dye over the blonde bits]hope i helped

A better way is to bleach it, which dries out your hair allowing the color to stick better and longer.

I have a friend who wanted red tips in her hair ( her's is about

your color ) and in order for it to show up, she had to dye her

hair blonde first. Her mom did her's and it did eventually

wash out. But in order for her mom to let her have it, it had to

be that way. You should maybe first try doing it that way to see

if you like it, but all in all I would pay to have it done by a

person who knows what they are doing.
