Ideas to help it stay in my hair ?

I'm having athletics day tomorrow and my colour is pink and i brought one of these hair accessories;

everytime i put it on.. the thing kind of goes up and makes my hair boof. how can i keep it still? thanks . any help or suggestions or tips appreciated. :)

bobby pin it to your hair and put hairspray on the bottom part of the band like the part touching your hair. it will make it tacky and make it stay=]

My sister likes the poof but you can always put bobby pins and the hairspray.
